Thanksgiving/Husband frustrations!

So 99.999999999999999999% of the time Colton likes any kind of food and everything I cook.  I beam with pride when he eats dinner so fast his cheeks are about to burst! I love hearing him tell me what I cooked was so amazing! Which happens to be a conflict of interest with me wanting us to stay active and a healthy weight for the rest of our lives! Only twice in our marriage did he dislike something I made.  Once was about month 4 or 5 and I tried one of those recipes that was modified to be healthier, it tasted like poo to both of us so I wasn't offended.  Incident #2, last night:

I found this recipe for stuffing/dressing made from scratch with sausage.  I thought I might give it a try.  I've never really cared for stuffing; it's too mushy like soggy bread, and why that's the whole goal when you make it I will never understand.  It also has an overwhelming flavor I don't like...too much chicken bouillon or something...I don't know. Anyway, I made this stuffing with sausage and only a little broth, it was moist but not mushy.  I actually liked it, which was a huge accomplishmet.  The stuffing I made last night was probably the only stuffing I would ever eat.  Then, along comes the hubby, and smashes my hopes and dreams all to bits of having wonderful tasting stuffing.  He hated it!  How can one person finally come to like something and the other person totally dislike it!?  What made it even more frustrating: "I don't know why I don't like it, I just don't." Well great Colt, thanks for helping me try and reach some middle ground on this stuffing.  I also get the same useless critiquing when I wear eyeshadow of any kind.  "I don't like it but I don't know why."  Such a boy!

In addition to stuffing, holiday desserts are hard to agree on around here.  About labor day, I start craving pumpkin like I'm a drug addict who has sold all personal possesions just to get their next fix! I love me some pumpkin!  Bread, pie, cheesecake, cookies, you name it!  I stock up on pumpkin and try to find as many recipes I can to use it.  Colton hates pumpkin!  Aaaagggggghhhhhh! Your killin' me smalls! He also hates cherry.  Now what person I ask you, doesn't really care for dutchoven cherry cobbler? I will tell you, my husband. Two of my three most favorite types of pie happen to be, any guesses? cherry and pumpkin!

So, we don't agree on stuffing, cherry pie, or pumpkin pie.  The holidays look bleak, and I am bummed!

Just look at the bright side here...

1.There is more for you to eat and enjoy! :)

2. He is honest with you and doesn't just hide it and not ever tell you.

Jayson has his own food quirks too- he doesn't like lasagna, or pea & potatoe soup.. some of my faves.
